Proprietors Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker have over twenty years experience cooking, baking, and catering in the Bay Area. Their cafe, on BAMPFA's second floor, offers monthly changing breakfast and lunch menus as well as scrumptious housemade pastries and French press, pour-over, and espresso coffee drinks from Verve, Catahoula, and Ritual Roasters. With a menu that changes monthly, Babette is the perfect place to compliment your cinema or gallery experience with a sweet treat, savory bite, or relaxing glass of beer or wine.

Soup
Chilled almond with grapes

Tartine
Avocado, grilled corn, salsa verde, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, and cotija cheese on housemade seeded whole wheat toast. Comes with a mixed green salad.

Sandwich
Grilled rosemary ham and gruyere with spicy pear chutney. Comes with a mixed green salad.

Plates
Masala venghi (coconut- and tamarind-filled roasted eggplant), okra in tomato-ginger sauce, and coconut-cashew rice with cilantro

Arugula, corn, and shrimp twice-baked souffle, cherry tomatoes

Salads
Saffron rice, roasted eggplant, sour cherries, scallions

Grilled corn slaw (cabbage, carrot, mint, basil, cilantro)

Broccoli, roasted red peppers, toasted almonds

 And always, a scrumptious selection of pastries
