Curator's Circle Event: Film to Table with James Ivory
Open to Curator's Circle members at the $2,500 level and above.
Please join us for a remarkable evening with the renowned filmmaker James Ivory (whose most recent accolade was winning an Oscar in 2018 for best adapted screenplay for Call Me by Your Name). Ivory will introduce a screening of three of his early works, including Autobiography of a Princess (UK, 1975) and two short films, The Sword and the Flute (US,1959) and The Creation of Woman (US, 1960). This screening is part of two concurrent BAMPFA series that focus on the early films of producer Ismail Merchant and director James Ivory—the first looks at films about, or based in, India, and the other explores writing for the cinema.
After the screening, Curator's Circle members will join Ivory, film series sponsor Graeme Vanderstoel, and Associate Film Curator Kate MacKay for a four-course dinner with wine pairing prepared and served by Babette chefs Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker.
Space is limited, and reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis.
Reservations will open on January 9, 2019.
