A young laborer cuts her hand harvesting grapes, and while returning home, she and her coworkers are forced to take refuge in a grove of oak trees after a menacing bull charges them. Stranded in the branches, they share bread, wine, stories, and songs of struggle. As the night wears on, history emerges as figures of memory and hauntings from past conflicts. While the verdant trees and abundant grapes reveal the region’s bounty, the weathered faces of the workers point to the ongoing disparity between those who toil and those who profit.
