Gallery + Studio / Wind Chime Sculpture

For ages 6–12 with accompanying adult(s).

Led by Viviana Martinez Carlos, this is a two-part workshop that integrates an interactive gallery tour with a related art project. Sign up in the Art Lab ten minutes ahead of the session, which begins with a short gallery tour at 11:30 AM.

Central to Maren Hassinger’s art is a wide vocabulary of forms, gestures, and movements inspired by nature. Discover these elements of her work in a guided walk through the gallery. Then explore sound and movement as you create a wind-activated sculpture using materials such as eucalyptus seed pods, twigs, branches, and other natural and recycled found materials.

Viviana Martinez Carlos, a 2025 graduate of UC Berkeley’s MFA program, is an interdisciplinary visual storyteller and educator whose practice explores ecosystems, memory, and environmental change using photography, film, printmaking, and installation.
