  • Workshop led by

Priyanka D’Souza is a visual artist and researcher based in Berkeley and a 2025 graduate of UC Berkeley’s MFA program. As one half of the artist duo Resting Museum, she explores archives, disability, and resistance, asking how marginalized bodies and stories shape political imaginaries. Her work engages history, memory, and collective practices of care.

This two-part workshop integrates an interactive gallery tour with a related art project. Sign up in the Art Lab ten minutes ahead of the session, which begins with a short gallery tour at 11:30.

How do form and function define an object? And what about design? Take a tour of Object Oriented: Abstraction and Design in the BAMPFA Collection to explore how familiar and unfamiliar objects shape our environment. Then, working with wire and different weights of plain and patterned paper, experiment with surfaces and open spaces as you make your own abstract and representational sculptures.
