Howard the Duck is a live-action comedy about a walking, talking, wise-cracking duck from another planet who finds himself on earth in big trouble. Just an ordinary kind of duck on his own Duck Planet, Howard is mysteriously transported to Earth and deposited in a back alley outside a punk bar in Cleveland, Ohio--an unsettling situation for a sensitive and intelligent duck like himself. The citizens of Cleveland are no less surprised. But Beverly (Lea Thompson), the lead singer of the all-female band Cherry Bomb, finds herself strangely attracted to the web-footed visitor, while Jenning (Jeffrey Jones), a maverick scientist whose top-secret experiments go awry and threaten to destroy the world, has reason to hope that Howard is no quack.
