Improvisational Screenprinting

Explore an experimental and improvisational form of screenprinting with artist Leon Wan. Printmaking is typically a process-driven medium, utilizing form and technique to create an image. Wan will share his approach to breaking certain conventions in creating spontaneous imprints of shape, pattern, and color rather than printing a single fixed image. This workshop centers emotion and energy through a more immediate application of screenprinting.

Leon Wan is a visual artist based out of Oakland. His art focuses on collage, animation, and sculpture. His work is driven by landscape, the mundane, and the kaleidoscopic. Wan graduated from California College of the Arts with a major in individualized studies and a minor in writing/literature. Since then he has been throwing art events and participating in art residencies and retreats, all with a focus on community.
