Open to Curator’s Circle members at the $5,000 level and above

Please join fellow Curator's Circle members at the art-filled home of Penny Cooper and Rena Rosenwasser to celebrate the opening of BAMPFA’s newest MATRIX exhibition featuring Ulrike Ottinger’s photographic work.

Ottinger is a Berlin-based filmmaker, visual artist, and director of theater and opera. The images on view in her MATRIX 276 exhibition were made over a period of decades and display Ottinger’s abiding interest in portraiture and landscape. Often, but not always, Ottinger’s photographic work runs parallel to her film projects. Held in common across both media are her talent as a cameraperson—her eye for detail, frame composition, color, and light—and her worldview. (This exhibition coincides with the film series East Meets West: The Films of Ulrike Ottinger, which will screen in BAMPFA’s Barbro Osher Theater March 8 – June 28, 2020.)

The evening will include a lively discussion between Ottinger and BAMPFA’s Senior Film Curator Susan Oxtoby, who curated the exhibition, followed by an intimate dinner.

Space is limited, and reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis.
