Patchwork Doll Making with Violette Alby and Eliza Fernand

Space is limited; RSVP required

Taking inspiration from the exhibition Routed West and from dolls everywhere, participants will make their own improvisational doll using DIY iron-on appliqué, hand sewing, and their imagination. All materials will be provided, and no sewing experience is needed. All ages welcome.

About the Artists

Violette Alby is a fiber artist based in New Mexico. In addition to her studio practice, Alby is a recycled fiber activist and improvisational quilt teacher in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.

Eliza Fernand is an interdisciplinary artist and organizer living in Chicago. They teach at the Chicago High School for the Arts and the School of the Art Institute Chicago, and lead a community workshop series called Queer Quilting in their studio.
