Risograph Workshop with Reprographixxx
RSVPs are full. Please stay tuned for more Art Lab workshops!
Sylvia Santillanez and Rena Tom of Berkeley’s Reprographixxx print studio offer an introduction to risograph printing. Reprographixxx is a volunteer-run risograph print studio inside the Long Haul Infoshop and Zine Archive. Inspired by the legacies of 1970s–1990s DIY publishing, it opens to the public several times a month for walk-in printing. Participants at this event will each make a two-color poster featuring a message or a poem using collage, transfer lettering, typewriters, and other analog methods.
Sylvia Santillanez is a Berkeley-based printmaker and archival researcher, and the lead printer of Reprographixxx. She enjoys sharing the legacies of underground, feminist, and DIY printing, and the role of labor in print production.
Rena Tom is a Berkeley-based multidisciplinary artist-researcher and a volunteer printer at Reprographixxx. She believes in the power of small press self-publishing and zines to share ideas.
