At Roundtable Reading Bilingüe, young readers read aloud to one another from the opening pages of a good book in English and Spanish. Children who participate will receive a copy of the book to continue reading at home. No advance sign-up needed; just show up promptly at 2:30 PM ready to read!

About the Book

Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade, Ivan has grown accustomed to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle. Instead, he thinks about his favorite TV shows, his friends Stella and Bob, and art—like how to capture the taste of a mango with color. When he meets Ruby, a young elephant taken from her family, Ivan begins to see their home, and his art, through new eyes. Now, it’s up to Ivan to change things for the better.
