At Roundtable Reading, young readers read aloud to one another from the opening pages of a good book. Children who participate will receive a copy of the book to continue reading at home. No advance sign-up needed; just show up promptly at 2:30 PM ready to read!

About the Book

Johannes is a free dog who lives in an urban park by the sea. His job is to be the Eyes of the park—to see everything and report what he sees to three ancient Bison, the park elders and Keepers of the Equilibrium. But changes are afoot. More humans arrive in the park, a new building goes up, and an actual boatload of goats appears. The Equilibrium is not in balance. Johannes tells us about it all and concocts a plan that may change everything about his life.
