This animated film, based on the best-selling cartoon story by Hiroshima survivor Keiji Nakazawa, tells the story of Gen and a group of wandering orphans as they struggle to survive in the aftermath of the bombing. Gen helps a child scarred by the blast and faces his mother's death from radiation sickness. Although graphic, this is a moving film that portrays the children's determination, compassion and courage. Parental discretion advised.
