BAMPFA is located in Downtown Berkeley at 2155 Center Street, between Oxford Street and Shattuck Avenue, one block from Downtown Berkeley BART!

BAMPFA is BARTable! We're located just one block from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Go to bart.gov for train information and schedules.

BAMPFA is also easily accessible by several AC Transit bus lines, including the 6, 7, 18, 22, 36, 51B, 52, 65, 67, 88 and F. For route maps and schedules, go to actransit.org.

Parking Lot and Street Closures

As a unit of UC Berkeley, BAMPFA may be impacted by major campus events (including Cal Athletics events) with street and parking lot closures or special event pricing at campus parking lots. 

During the Fall 2025 Cal Football season, Addison Street and the BAMPFA Parking Lot will be closed on the following Saturdays and one Friday:

  • Saturday, September 13
  • Saturday, October 4
  • Friday, October 17
  • Saturday, November 1
  • Saturday, November 29

Bicycle

Channing Way and Milvia Street are Bicycle Boulevards and Oxford Street offers a dedicated bike lane.

Bike racks are located by the museum's main entrance on Center Street with overflow bike parking on Addison Street.

Visiting from Out of Town

BAMPFA's preferred hotel partner is the Hotel Shattuck Plaza, a historic boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Berkeley, just two blocks from the museum. Make a reservation.
