The exhibition Harvey Quaytman: Against the Static—a highlight of BAMPFA’s 2018 season—charts the trajectory of Quaytman’s work from the 1960s to the late 1990s and includes more than seventy works from key points throughout his career. The totality of Quaytman’s highly original body of work places him squarely within the tradition of modernist painting, yet also proves him to be one of its most capable and unsung explorers.

Curator’s Circle members are invited for a preview tour of Harvey Quaytman: Against the Static with the exhibition’s curator, Apsara DiQuinzio. After the tour, guests may linger in the galleries or gather at Babette for a glass of wine and small bites. The celebration continues with a festive dinner at a nearby venue to honor the exhibition lenders, sponsors, and organizers.
