In conjunction with the Berkeley Public Library's Summer Reading Program based on the theme Folklore and Mythology Around the World, we present film versions of the American tall tale Pecos Bill; Anansi the Spider from Africa; How the Kiwi Lost His Wings from Australia; the Hungarian tale Ondra and the Snow Dragon; a Native American coyote tale, The Dancing Bullrushes; the European tale The Fisher and His Wife; and The Stonecutter from Japan. Note: Free passes to PFA's Films for Big and Little People are available at the Berkeley Public Library for young readers who meet the summer program goals.
