I Take This Woman

"The big surprise of this rediscovery is the remarkably modern performance by Carole Lombard, not normally at her best as early as 1931. The film, which co-stars Gary Cooper, is somewhat in the tradition of The Wind and City Girl-the girl from the town pitted against the rigors of the wild-and it is also, quite coincidentally, almost a forerunner of the much later Gary Cooper comedy The Cowboy and the Lady."
