Koko's Kitten and Other True Stories

(Recommended for age 5 and older.) Koko's Kitten, the book and now the film, is based on the actual experience of a gentle gorilla who is taught to use sign language by researcher and author Francine Patterson. Koko is delighted when she gets a pet cat and communicates her grief when the cat is lost. Also on the program are a charming film about otters, an amusing study of pigs by Carroll Ballard (director of The Black Stallion), and a fascinating look at a beekeeper in action.
