This is the wonderful film classic about an English girl (Elizabeth Taylor at age 12) and her rascal friend (Mickey Rooney) who turn a hunting horse into the winner of the Grand National Steeplechase. Director Clarence Brown's skillful work with child actors and his mastery of color composition would culminate the next year in The Yearling.
