39th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen: Selections from the German Competition

The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen is internationally known as the pre-eminent festival celebrating the spectrum of possibilities provided by the short film form. Each year, drawing from hundreds of submissions and the viewing of thousands of films, the Festival presents an array of documentaries, animation, short narratives and experimental works. In addition to the annual International and German Competitions, represented here tonight and Friday, February 25, the Festival yearly presents symposia that focus on topical issues; in 1993 seven programs explored "Confrontation of Cultures."
