Accidental Art: A Home Movie Day Celebration

“There's no such thing as a bad home movie. These mini-underground opuses are revealing, scary, joyous, always flawed, filled with accidental art, and shout out from attics and closets all over the world to be seen again,” says John Waters. Our program will focus on Bay Area memories, from the “scene” to the scenic. Cool cats cruise through downtown Oakland in the seventies, a hula girl and her swains dance the Charleston in Pacific Heights, babies and birds roam Ocean Beach-these moments and more will be culled from audience member submissions and home movies in the PFA Collection. Program curated by Pamela Jean Smith.
