Since joining the National Film Board of Canada in 1970, John Weldon has collaborated on over thirty films and made a great many of his own productions as well. Spinnolio won prizes at the 1977 Canadian Film Awards and Melbourne Film Festival. Special Delivery won the 1979 Academy Award for best animated short, and took top prize in its category that year at the world famous Zagreb Animation Film Festival.
