Atomic Ed & the Black Hole

Every month Los Alamos National Laboratory holds an auction, selling high-tech salvage to the highest bidder. Atomic Ed, a former Los Alamos machinist turned atomic junk collector, can always be found there, rummaging through what he calls the "nuclear waste." Back at the Black Hole, Ed's atomic thrift store, he's polishing the magnetometers, dusting off the scopes, rearranging the induction coils. It's his belief, as briskly explained in Ellen Spiro's zany doc, that these prickly objects represent the government's wasteful preoccupation with destruction. But don't get Ed started about scientific excess and techno-idolatry - he'll go critical on you.
