“One of the best and most irreverent of the early 1930s comedies, Blessed Event is a send up of one of the dominant broadcasters of the time, Walter Winchell. Lee Tracy turns in his definitive performance as the rapid-fire gossip reporter, while a typically plentiful Warners helping of character actors adds some spice to the entree.
