Blue Sunshine
Okay, so I lied: there is no college campus in this trippy trasher by the director of Squirm. But there's something just as good: a grisly story of mayhem that leads back to Stanford U. In a rustic cabin, some Big Chill-ed yuppies gather for a reunion. It's all gushy nostalgia, until one of them begins frothing, then flips. The tense atmosphere finally overheats when he chucks three of the women into a blazing fireplace. Reveler Jerry Zipkin (played by soft-porn producer Zalman King) is mistaken for the maniac, forcing him to go on the lam. After more ghastly homicides occur, Zipkin starts adding two plus two - something he learned at Stanford: the murderers all shed their hair, then gain a gruesome blue pallor, finally going totally berserk. Behind it all: a batch of LSD cooked at The Farm. Filled with hallucinatory menace, Blue Sunshine puts the "high" back in higher education.
