British Advertising Broadcast Awards, 1984

In addition, a number of feature-length directors working in the United Kingdom and the U.S. began by making commercials in Britain--and several continue to do so. Tonight's program comprises the advertisements deemed the finest in 1984 by the British Advertising Broadcast Awards Limited (BABA), an organization of industry professionals that has awarded advertising films in various categories since 1976. The Museum of Modern Art Department of Film acknowledges the help of Tony Solomon and Peter Bigg, BABA's chairman and administrator respectively, and Barry Day of McCann-Erickson Worldwide in New York.
