A Centennial Tribute to Oskar Fischinger: Rarities

This program presents rarely seen films by Fischinger, as well as examples of his commercial work and a documentary on his life featuring interviews with his wife Elfriede. Included is a 1927 single-frame film Fischinger made while walking from Munich to Berlin, and a selection of experiments from a machine he invented to animate slices through a block of multicolored wax.
