Chop Suey
Bruce Weber, the world-renowned photographer who celebrates the bodies of men?particularly young men?tells the tale of his obsession with Peter Johnson, a young wrestler with the eyes of an angel and a body by God. Chop Suey takes us on a four-year journey that simultaneously documents Peter's transition to manhood and Weber's inspirations as a photographer. Weber leads Johnson on a tour of 20th-century film, music, and photography, paying special homage to the truly fabulous torch singer Frances Faye. ChopSuey is both the chronicle of an obsession and a riveting journey through the popular culture that has shaped Weber and to which he has contributed.
