The joys of a cozy American Christmas come in for a little ribbing in this comedy that plays on double-entendres and dual identities. Barbara Stanwyck is a ladies-home-journalist whose column is created out of pure imagination--in truth, she enjoys the bachelor's life in a New York walk-up. When chosen by publisher Sidney Greenstreet as a worthy hostess for on-leave soldier Dennis Morgan, she has a few hours to come up with an imitation husband, a real 8-month-old baby, and a snow-covered home in the Connecticut suburbs.
