Delbaran

Kaim, a fourteen-year-old Afghan fleeing his country's civil war, has found refuge in the border town of Delbaran, where he works at a truck stop. Delbaran is laced with humor and a genuine affection for its characters that is never patronizing. The small everyday decencies of people struggling against wartime dislocation and poverty may not always guarantee happy endings, but they do offer hope in the harshly beautiful world director Abolfazl Jalili evokes.
