The third of Republic's four Dick Tracy serials, all starring Ralph Byrd, ....G Men was one of the best and certainly one of the most elaborate, with a longer shooting schedule than any of the others. Republic's forte was always slickly staged and crisply photographed action, with plot merely a peg on which to hang the fights, chases and stunts. Condensed to (substantial) feature-length form, the repetitious plot devices become a little obvious, but the pace is tremendous, all of Republic's top stuntmen work non-stop, and the ingenuity even includes cutting the Hindenburg disaster into a chapter ending! Newcomer Jennifer Jones proved to be the least active of any Republic serial heroine, uninvolved in any of the action scenes. William K. Everson
