Dragstrip Girl
"Car crazy, speed crazy, boy crazy!" That's Dragstrip Girl. Fay Spain plays Louise, the blonde spitfire who really digs "H.P. Horsepower." In hot pursuit are humble Jim (Steve Terrell), the working-class hero, and Fred (John Ashley), son of a local real estate baron. With some cranked T-buckets, they're part of a loose-witted gang that runs illegal drag races up in the hills. Back at their hangout, a small pizzeria, newcomer Frank Gorshin entertains the teen T-tubbers with some drag of his own. The rivalry for Louise, who really knows how to fill a pair of grease-stained overalls, escalates until the ga-ga guys resort to chicken races: a straightaway with curves in the rearview mirror. "Thrill-hungry teens on a reckless rampage!" Maybe not a rampage, but Dragstrip Girl is certainly a riot.-Steve Seid
