Duck Soup
This satiric and anarchic masterpiece is considered the funniest film the Marx Brothers ever made. Groucho is the cynical and sarcastic Rufus T. Firefly, appointed prime minister of the small country of Freedonia by the wealthy Mrs. Teasdale (Margaret Dumont). Mayhem ensues at more than a gag a minute, but this madcap farce carries a strong antiwar message. Featuring the greatest comedy routine in cinema history-the mirror sequence in which Harpo pretends to be Groucho's reflection-Duck Soup is chock full of Groucho's one-liners, Chico's puns, and Harpo's silent comedy, highlighting the zany comic genius that made them the supreme siblings of silly.
