Eisenstein's Mexican Film: Episodes for Study (Part Two)

More fascinating material from Eisenstein's unfinished Que Viva Mexico, simply and effectively assembled by Jay Leyda. No attempt is made to edit the rushes, and many takes of shots and scenes are shown one after the other, so this is not a film to be “enjoyed” as a finished work. But film students can learn more from seeing this assembly than from sitting through almost any other program this month.

See program note for Part One on Feb. 15 for more information.
