Employees' Entrance

In Employees' Entrance, Warren William as Kurt Anderson, the ruthless head of a New York department store, gives lessons in how to succeed in business. Following his code of “smash or be smashed” with relish, he fires aging “deadwood” employees, forces the Board of Directors to “knuckle under” (and double his salary), and puts a stop to company romance. With unerring business sense, he sees love as bad business, and when his assistant secretly marries, Anderson isn't above monkey business to save his “investment” (Wallace Ford) from a “distraction” (Loretta Young) to his work. Although the story is slim, the script is witty, and this rarely revived film is a superb showcase for William's talents.
