Fraulein Berlin

Lambert spoofs himself in this parade of the giants of the independent film and festival circuit, shot partly in New York (featuring New York filmmakers Jim Jarmusch and Bette Gordon) and in Toronto, where Lambert was feted at the 1983 film festival. Ulrike S. stars as a low-budget superstar of such “personal epics” as Monster Woman (Lambert's own Nightmare Lady?), who now wants to go legit. Therefore, at Toronto, she engages Famous Film Director Norman Jewison and Serious Critic David Overbey in wonderful tongue-in-cheek dialogue about her career and its dubious future.
