A young couple wander over the post-holocaust countryside, usually stark naked, in search of a mythical “city” mentioned to them by an itinerant magician. Randa is pregnant. When she dies in childbirth at the home of an old man who lives by the seashore, the two men plus baby boy set off in a boat.
