God's Gift to Women

A delightful bedroom farce in which a ladykiller (Frank Fay) is put to the test by the father of his would-be bride (Laura La Plante) who forces him to prove his intentions are noble. The lovesick Lothario is led to believe that he is truly sick and must avoid "excitation" on pain of death. Enter Louise Brooks... God's Gift to Women was directed by Michael Curtiz, the versatile and always commercially successful director who is best known now for his Forties films, Mildred Pierce and Casablanca, but whose career spans the 'teens to the '60s.
