A Good Example and Point of Order

This dramatic re-enactment of Bertolt Brecht's testimony before the 1947 House Un-American Activities Committee, taken directly from transcripts of the hearing, also explores the historic context of the HUAC and Brecht's appearance, his relationship to the Hollywood Ten, and his reflections on the hearings taken from diaries here translated into English for the first time. A Good Example, which has appeared recently at the American Film Festival and the Edinburgh Film Festival, was made by a group of Boston artists "in sympathy with the courage and integrity of Brecht and the Hollywood Ten."
