The Green Scarf
British filmmakers seemed unusually fond of France-located thrillers in the postwar period. This one does rather exceed the bounds of likely gimmickry with a blind, deaf and dumb man wrongly accused, clearly not in a position to defend himself, and saved by a wily and idealistic lawyer (Michael Redgrave). Unpredictable to say the least, and with a solid cast. William K. Everson
