Groundhog Day

In 1980's Caddyshack, Bill Murray was a gopher-wrangler, ridding a country club of those burrowing rodents. Déjà vu all over again: with Groundhog Day, he's back at it, now terrorized by the shadowy woodchuck. Murray plays meteorologist Phil Connors, begrudgingly assigned to cover the big Punxsutawney, P.A. story, a.k.a. Groundhog Day. Upon waking the next day, he discovers it's the previous day, a loop that keeps looping back. Director Ramis's comic twist in time sets Phil loose to learn about himself, consequence-free, until he meets lovely Rita (Andie MacDowell), and he's got to get it right once and for all-a joke worth repeating.
