The difficulties of a single-parent family, seen from the viewpoint of a young Japanese girl who resents the fact that she must take care of herself and her younger brother while her widowed mother works overtime. Daughter and mother come to understand each other better when the girl shares her hurt. Winner of the Adult Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the 12th L.A. International Children's Film Festival.
