Hide and Seek (Miskhak Makhbuim)
Set in British Mandate Palestine in 1946, Hide and Seek concerns a young boy who is sent to live with his grandfather while his parents are involved in anti-British underground activities. The boy's special love for his tutor turns to distrust as he begins to suspect the teacher of being a spy. "A remarkable study of the difference between real and perceived truth, Hide and Seek, like many of the new wave films from Israel, confronts the premium placed on conformity in Israel both during its birth and throughout its maturation." (Jewish Film Festival)
