Clark Gable as Eddie the con-man and Jean Harlow as Ruby, his hard-boiled gal, are perfectly matched in this comedy that is also a lovely drama about two souls who become inseparable, in or out of jail. The script by Anita Loos (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes) is peppered with wisecracks that Harlow delivers with maximum punch, Gable receives with macho aplomb, and vice versa.
