I Am My Films: A Portrait of Werner Herzog

A portrait/interview with Werner Herzog, punctuated by scenes from his extraordinary body of work including Even Dwarfs Started Small, Land Of Silence And Darkness, Aguirre, Kaspar Hauser, La Soufriere, and Stroszek. Herzog speaks of his “strong intuition for landscapes” and his volatile relationship with Klaus Kinski (star of Aguirre and Nosferatu): “temperamentally he's inclined to hysteria.” Herzog's fascinating recollections of filming in the Peruvian Andes conclude with the thought that “all these humiliations are an essential part of making films.”
