"This treasure was found buried in a Saturday kiddie matinee, but deserves better: it is one of the most audacious, ridiculously cheerful and berserk science fiction movies ever made. The Shaw Brothers' Infra-Man has his own particular brand of charm and a handsome very exploitable red costume that kids should drool over. In just the first five minutes, the earth splits open and swallows a school bus, volcanoes fall apart to reveal the forms of gigantic prehistoric lizards with glo-lite eyes, the three-million-year-old princess dragon mom stirs in her subterranean dungeon and decides to unleash the mutant men to conquer earth...and, from Science headquarters, the professor declares, 'this is the worst that things ever have been.' Clearly a case for Infra-Man, a bionic combination of Bruce Lee, Superman and a pocket calculator. His duels with the octopus men are awesome. He also takes on a race of hairy toadstools. After many a Herculean trial and lots of karate chops, Infra-Man wins out (as if you didn't know) and peace returns. Fun for the family." (Toronto Film Festival)
