It Happened in Broad Daylight (Es Geschah am Hel- lichten Tag)

: A police inspector (Heinz Ruhmann), obsessive in his search for a psychopathic murderer; a peddlar (Michel Simon); a psychiatrist (Roger Livesy): A sort of contemporary M, but set in the clean, healthy and invigorating Swiss Alps, which somehow makes the crime seem even more appalling. The only available prints are, unfortunately, very badly dubbed (especially in the case of Michel Simon) but one learns to live with it. William K. Everson
