It's Da Greens! Winter Golf in Brooklyn

It's the dead of winter in Brooklyn, the temperature hovers around thirty degrees, but the golf course at Dyker Beach is anything but deserted. The Sandtrappers, a loose-knit group of older golfers, have entered the fairway for a scramble challenge. These intrepid amateurs take to the tee year round, though the course is stark and scraggly in its winter coat and the ground as hard as the concrete that surrounds it. Teitelbaum's hilarious It's Da Greens! follows the elder golfers as they play out the course amidst snow flurries and stray dogs. A narrator with a sumptuous sense of ham-on-wry gives us the par-ticulars of each forlorn hole as we listen in on conversations filled with wicked anecdotes, wily asides, and above all, golf advice, good, bad, and erroneous. These duffers may be older, their bodies a bit creaky for the swing, but their passion for golf is hot enough for the coldest season. The question is, can they shoot their age?
