The Jahalin
An Israeli woman documents the collision of cultures between a group of Bedouins-legendary, proudly nomadic tribespeople of Palestine-and Jewish settlers ready to take advantage of their lack of land deeds and papers to build a few ugly subdivisions. Cultural history takes a backseat to encroaching suburbanization, with even a final insult: the Bedouins are given a token homeland, right next to a garbage dump.
