Recommended for ages 6+. When a young witch (the good kind, that is) turns 13, it's tradition for her to leave home for a year in order to complete her training. Kiki embarks on this rite of passage armed simply with great enthusiasm, her mother's broom, and her talking black cat Jiji. Finding a new home by the sea, she is taken in by a benevolent baker named Osono and soon creates her own flying delivery service.
